The history of the Mullaghmore and Seskinore estates can be traced through the following individuals, whose lives shaped the ownership, inheritance, and legacy of the estate.


Origins and the Perry–McClintock Connection

Married Mary Perry in 1781, establishing the connection between the McClintock family and the Mullaghmore estate.

Her marriage into the McClintock family brought the Mullaghmore estate connection, forming the foundation of the family’s later prominence.

Last of the Perry family to hold the estate; his will directed its transfer to the McClintock family.


Establishment at Seskinore

First of the McClintock family to take possession of Seskinore (1845), establishing it as the principal residence.

Maintained the estate in the later nineteenth century, preserving the Perry connection in name.


John (“Jack”) Knox McClintock (1864–1936)

Succeeded to Seskinore and, through marriage, linked the McClintock and Eccles families.


Marriage and Transition of the Estates


Daughter and co-heiress of the Eccles family; her marriage connected the Seskinore and Ecclesville families while the estates remained legally distinct.

Only child and heir; through her marriage, Seskinore passed into the Joynson-Wreford family.

Succeeded to Seskinore through marriage to Leila, overseeing its final phase before sale and decline.


Final Ownership and Rediscovery


Olive Vivian Trainor
(1893–1980)

Second wife of Tony Joynson-Wreford and mother of Anthony Patrick (“Pat”) Joynson-Wreford.

Son of Olive Trainor and Tony; his later life and association with Seskinore formed part of the rediscovery of the estate.

Daughter of Leila and Tony; central to the rediscovery of Seskinore and the preservation of its history.
